Striker moves across DCBL Stadium tunnel from City of Liverpool

Widnes Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of striker Adam Morgan.

The 30-year-old has completed a move from City of Liverpool in time to be eligible to face Chasetown on Saturday.

Morgan arrives at the DCBL Stadium with an impressive pedigree and standing in the game having initially being a highly-touted youngster at Liverpool.

He made three senior appearances under Brendan Rodgers, all in the UEFA Europa League, before departing for Yeovil Town on a permanent deal in 2014.

Adam made 19 total appearances in the Championship and League One for the Glovers, scoring once, while also spending time on loan in Scotland at St Johnstone.

He then moved to Accrington Stanley before spells in Non-League for Hemel Hempstead Town, Colwyn Bay, Curzon Ashton - where he scored a hat-trick in front of the TV cameras in the FA Cup - and FC Halifax Town.

Morgan scored four goals in 16 appearances at Irish side Sligo Rovers in 2018 before returning to Curzon and eventually joining Mossley.

It was then that Adam was convinced to move to Widnes by then joint-managers Kev Towey and Steve Akrigg, but he left without playing a game after relocating down south.

Spells at Romford, Chelmsford City, Braintree Town and Haringey Borough all followed before he returned to Merseyside in 2022, winning the Liverpool County Premier Division with Halewood Apollo last season.

Morgan has started this campaign with the Purps, scoring twice in six games.

The Club would like to thank City of Liverpool for their co-operation and assistance in getting this transfer over the line.

Welcome to Widnes, Adam!
