Widnes Football Club and manager Dave Dempsey have parted company by mutual agreement with immediate effect.
Dempsey departs after just over a year in charge having guided the Whites to 15 wins from 43 games as manager – a 35% win ratio.
“I would like to thank Dave and his staff for their hard work and commitment over the last 12 months,” Chairman Ian Ross said.
“Dave has been a credit, both on and off the pitch, respected by players, staff and volunteers throughout our entire football club.
‘However, after holding amicable discussions in light of recent results and performances, all parties have come to an agreement that a change is required to move forward.
“On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to wish Dave and his staff every success for the future.”
The process to appoint a new manager begins immediately. Potential applicants should send an up-to-date footballing CV in the first instance to Chairman Ian Ross via email: ian@hallmark-security.com.
