The Club would like to outline its new policy for U16s attending home matches

Widnes Football Club can confirm that all Under 16s attending home matches will now need to be accompanied by a responsible adult to gain entry to the DCBL Stadium.

This is due to serious anti-social behaviour that took place during and after our previous home game against Stalybridge Celtic on Wednesday 9 October.

Police and internal investigations into these incidents are still ongoing.

Furthermore, each attendee under the age of 16 will have to sit within a suitable distance of their supervising adult, who have a clear and unobstructed view of those under their care during the game.

This is an attempt to prevent the recurrence of similar issues moving forward.

Anyone attending without this supervision and deemed under 16 without proof of age will be refused entry to the stadium.

This policy will be implemented immediately, starting with our home NPL West fixture against Hednesford Town on Saturday.

For clarification, this will not be enforced on a one adult to one child ratio. An adult can accompany multiple children, but they must be responsible for each child in the group.

We are mindful that the minority are currently spoiling it for the majority, and we are continuing to assess our options in co-operation with DCBL Stadium management.

The Club are looking to implement a membership scheme for our younger supporters to attend without adult supervision in the very near future.

We will continue to assess matchday safety and security measures as part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe environment. Any future updates to the policy will be communicated to supporters.

Tickets for home matches can be purchased HERE. Supporters can also pay on the gate if they wish to do so.

The Club is really appreciative of your support and we are looking forward to seeing as many of our younger fans as possible cheering the team on this season.
