Widnes Football Club is delighted to announce the permanent signing of Jack Byrne.

The defender initially joined on loan from AFC Fylde in January, playing an important role as Widnes fought off relegation from the Northern Premier League West Division.

And manager Michael Ellison has moved swiftly to tie the 21-year-old down to a permanent deal after his contract at Fylde expired earlier this summer.

Jack made 18 appearances, scoring once, while on loan last term and becomes our first new addition of the summer ahead of the new season.
