Widnes Football Club are delighted to announce the return of striker Jamie Rainford.

The 31-year-old has completed a switch from Mossley 15 months after departing Widnes for Clitheroe in October 2018.

Jamie became Widnes' first summer signing ahead of the 2018-19 Evo-Stik Division West season, reuniting with co-boss Kevin Towey - teammates at Marine.

He made 10 appearances for the Whites, scoring twice before moving to Clitheroe and then on to Ramsbottom United, ending the season with 22 goals in all competitions.

Rainford began this season at Runcorn Linnets before making the switch to Mossley in November.

He is in the squad for today's BetVictor Northern Premier League Division One North/West clash at Ossett United.
