Widnes FC can confirm that the club's pre-season arrangements and fixtures ahead of the 2016/17 Hallmark Security League First Division campaign have been finalised.
Widnes’ new management team of Danny Meadowcroft and Brian Pritchard have been working hard to put together a number of games in preparation for their first season in charge after being appointed last month.
The six games confirmed include two marquee matchups at the Select Security Stadium, as the Whites host Vanarama National League North side Altrincham on Sunday July 10 before welcoming local rivals Warrington Town for the first-ever meeting between the two clubs on Tuesday July 26.
Altrincham will provide a stern, early test for the Whites following their relegation from the National League at the end of the season whilst Warrington are preparing for life in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division following their title winning campaign in the Evo-Stik Division One North.
Widnes will be on their travels for their remaining four pre-season games. Meadowcroft's side travel to the Richborough Estates Stadium to face Hallmark Security League Premier Division side Congleton Town on Saturday 16th July before a trip to Rivacre Park to take on West Cheshire League side Vauxhall Motors follows three days later on Tuesday 19th July.
Widnes’ pre-season fixture list continues with a trip to Cheshire League Premier Division champions Knutsford FC on (July 23) before the schedule concludes a week later with an away game at Cheshire League 2 side Halebank (July 30), who will host a pre-season game between the two clubs for the third season running.
Admission details will follow in due course.
