Widnes will look to take another step towards promotion with the visit of Witton Albion on Saturday (3:00pm).
The Whites are unbeaten in their previous five outings (four wins, one draw) and sit seven points clear of second-placed Hednesford Town with just six matches still to play.
And they return to the DCBL Stadium in buoyant mood after a comfortable 2-0 win over Hanley Town where a greater margin of victory would have been a fairer reflection of their day's work for Michael Ellison's team.
12 points are needed to secure the Northern Premier League West title and promotion to Step 3, but Ellison and his players certainly won't be looking beyond a Witton side desperate for points in the lower third of the table.
The Opposition
Albion will make the relatively short journey over the Mersey Gateway bridge eager to right the wrongs of their 1-0 home defeat to Avro last time out.
Ben Harrison's side played for almost an hour with a one-man advantage after Jack Morrow's red card but were unable to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
That result leaves Witton six points clear of the relegation places with a difficult run of fixtures to come with four of their final six games coming against teams in the top eight.
Previous Meetings
Widnes won February's reverse fixture at Wincham Park 1-0 thanks to Louis Isherwood's early goal in a match that saw Witton reduced to 10-men when Jim Lawrie was sent off for a foul on Kingsley Williams.
But Albion have won four of the six previous meetings between these two sides including their last two visits to the DCBL Stadium under then-manager Jon Macken.
Now-boss Harrison played in both of those victories and he'll perhaps be buoyed by December's win at the same venue over tenants City of Liverpool back in December.
