Widnes can move 11 points clear at the top of the Northern Premier League West with a win over Wythenshawe Town tonight (Friday).
The Whites need 17 points from their remaining eight games to secure the title and promotion to the NPL Premier Division.
But opponents Wythenshawe Town will prove a tough nut to crack with Rory Fallon's team fighting for their lives against the threat of relegation at the other end of the division.
A victory for Michael Ellison's side would be their third straight at the DCBL Stadium after late triumphs over Bootle and Chasetown earlier this month.
The Opposition
Visitors Wythenshawe have only one won of their previous five road trips - ironically at the DCBL Stadium against City of Liverpool last month.
Fallon's side are one of the league's best travellers however, picking up 24 points away from home this season - a record only bettered by five other clubs, including Widnes.
Town will arrive in Cheshire under no pressure and will see this contest as a free hit - a win would move them four points clear of the relegation places.
Previous Meetings
This is only the second-ever fixture between these two sides with Widnes running 2-1 winners at Ericstan Park in November with James Steele and Niall Battersby on the scoresheet.
