Widnes will travel to Step 4 side Ossett United in the extra preliminary round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The Whites have been paired with the Yorkshire-based Sheepicorns at the first stage of the competition, who are managed by former Mossley and Runcorn Linnets manager Dave Wild.
The tie will be played on Saturday 3 August, and the winners have been handed a trip to Ramsbottom United or Stalybridge Celtic in the preliminary round on Saturday 17 August.
Widnes bowed out at the first round qualifying stage last season, losing a replay away at Emley.
The winners of the cup tie will receive £1,125 while the losers will receive £375.
